Greetings, dear EM family,

I pray that this email finds you well.

The number of coronavirus cases in Massachusetts continues to climb. Government Baker today has announced a statewide face-covering order for certain public places where keeping a social distance is not achievable.

The Middlesex County (where the town of Chelmsford belongs) remains to have the highest cases in the commonwealth.

Please continue to be mindful when you go out and equip yourself with PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment).

Thanks to the internet, we can obtain the latest information quickly. Do you know who invented the internet? Or put the world wide web in the public domain? If you search the web, you may find many different answers.

Regardless of the answer you find, I hope you agree that the internet has revolutionized our lives. Without the internet, we will not be able to study the bible together or worship in one Spirit during the pandemic.

It was a great invention! A grand vision attracts people to follow. Smartphones are another excellent example, now people can leave home without their American Express, but they can’t leave home without their phones…. And cellular data!

But you may not know that, before Ethernet became the standard for internet protocol, there used to be many protocols competing. Before Google became a popular search engine, there used to be many others (e.g., Yahoo, Excite, Lycos, AOL, and Netscape).

If the vision did not attract followers, it would disappear!

Two thousand years ago, Jesus also attracted people to follow him. After his crucifixion, some people considered Jesus a failure as a Jewish King. However, many still held fast to their belief and even paid the price with their lives. For two thousand years, the followers never disappear. Do you ever wonder why? Paul, in 1 Corinthians 15, provided us an answer:

³For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures,

⁴that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,

⁵and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.

⁶Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.

⁷Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles.

⁸Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me.

(1 Corinthians 15:3-8, ESV)

Because our Lord has risen!! Think about it: If Jesus was never raised from the dead, we believe in vain, we are still in our sins, and we are the most to be pitied (1 Corinthians 15:16-19, ESV).
