Dear EM family,
I pray that this email reaches you well.
Have you ever wished that you had a second chance, or could go back in time, to correct a mistake you had made?
What’s more, do you think our God gives us a second chance?
Recently I found an old photo taken in 2006 in a juvenile rehab institute in Taiwan.
I was on a short term mission trip to this rehab facility and shared God’s love with them.
Most of the residents in this rehab had suffered from substance abuse and drug addiction. This facility was there to help them break away from their bad habit.
Ministering to the people in rehab is a ministry a local church is serving and continue to do. People who come for help can stand back up on their feet again and experience mercies and forgiveness from God.
To those who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior, there is only one way up to receive the victory, which is through Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57).
Did you recall that God ever gave you a second chance? To Uzzah, who went to grab the ark, didn’t receive a second chance (2 Samuel 6:6-7). How about Ananias and his wife, Sapphira? They were not given a second chance, either (Acts 5:1-10).
A second chance allows you to correct your wrongs and to make things right in the eyes of God. Without it, people go down in history forever as warning examples.
King David told us that,
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.
(Psalm 51:17, ESV)
Apostle John also reminds that,
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
(1 John 1:9, ESV)
God is willing to forgive repentant sinners as God can read their hearts and motives of people (1 Samuel 16:7). Ask God for a second chance you while you still have a chance!
