Brothers and Sisters in Christ,  

             You are in my thoughts and my prayers. 

            I know that “thoughts and prayers” are spoken of with disdain in our culture. We live in a world of trials, temptations, and tragedy. It seems as if thoughts and prayers are just wishful thinking. 

            To say that you are in my thoughts means that you are valuable to me. You are worth thinking about. You are important. You matter. You are in my thoughts.  

            I am also working at asking Jesus to put you in my heart. I want to be a better pastor. I want to have opportunities to express my care and concern for you. I want to know you better so that I can be of assistance in pointing you to God, our Heavenly Father, who cares about you more than I can express. One of my prayers is that I would grow in my love for you through the affection of Christ for you. You are in my heart more and more. 

            While it is well and good to have you in my thoughts and my heart, the best place for you to be is in my prayers. I can’t change your life, making it full of peace and love. But I know the one who can. I am working at bringing you before the Throne of Grace so that you might be the people God has called you to be. I am seeking to grow in prayer for you so that you live in the reality of who you are in Christ, for the glory and praise of God alone.    

This Week (Sept. 3 – Sept. 9, 2021):

  1. Tonight, Sept. 3, 2021, we will not have Friday Night Bible Study. Enjoy the time of rest and spend time resting in the Lord, even as we take time this weekend to rest from our Labors.  
     
  2. CrossPoint Community Sunday School– on Sept. 5 – is taking a break (due to the holiday). 
    1. The Young Adults will be meeting for brunch in the courtyard at 9:45 am (in-person and online)! Info is found on the Young Adults (YAs) Facebook page. 

  3. This Sunday, Sept. 5, Pastor Nathan Willems will be preaching. Pray for me! Join us for in-person worship!

Administration / Events

  1. CBCGL’s COVID-19 waiver form has been updated. If you haven’t completed a waiver, please do so. The updated waiver can be found at http://bit.ly/cbcgl-covid19-waiver. You are required to have completed this form and follow its guidance if you plan to participate in any in-person church activities. 
    Note: There is updated guidance from the COVID taskforce. 
    1. Wearing a face mask is required to attend church indoor activities regardless of vaccination status except when preaching, teaching, or leading worship service. 
    2. After international or domestic travel by plane, self-quarantine for 10 days before attending church in-person activities or follow state and CDC recommendations or requirements. 
    3. MPR room is limited only for no contact sports, e. g. pong-pong, badminton, etc., and otherwise pre-approved activities.
