Greetings, EM family,
I pray that this email finds you well physically and spiritually.
Memorial Day weekend is upon us, hard to believe that we have been in this stay-at-home order for two months now.
The four-phase plan is being carried out; here, you can see what business and stores are allowed to reopen as of May 18, 2020.
Again, a total of 60 sites state-wide COVID-19 test sites have been opened, and some of them are on Wal-Mart’s parking lot (Full List of Test Sites).
Memorial Day is a time to commemorate the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country.

Journalist Elmer Davis used to say, “This nation will remain the land of the free, only so long as it is the home of the brave.” Unfortunately, injustices, oppression, and conflicts are still happening around the world today. Without the brave, it is impossible for us to enjoy freedom. Regardless you are born here or immigrated from another land. while we enjoy the freedom constitute the First Amendment, let us also remember that, “Freedom is not free!”
Korean War Veterans Memorial, Washington, D.C.
Do you know, the price to enter the Kingdom of Heaven is also not free? The price is not your good deeds, or how you live a pious life, cause we all fall short to meet the expectation. Jesus came, died on the cross to pay for our transgressions.
Jesus said,
11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
(John 10:11, ESV)
14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and my own know me.
(John 10:11, ESV)
Jesus paid the price for us so we can have the visa to enter the Kingdome of Heaven. Jesus did not ask us anything in exchange, and he laid it down willingly.
18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.
(John 10:18, ESV)
While His truth has set us free, let us remember, if we truly, truly know Jesus, we know He is our good shepherd.

- From the E.M. Future Search Retreat back in January, many of us have expressed a common desire to become more prayerful people, to grow in love for God and unity as one body. To assess where we are lacking in prayer and gather ideas of how we can improve in the English Ministry, we are requesting all to fill out the following survey:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdUtqyoCTDMXwCxwl5ydW_g5lJTpAPkoThjdrcgwygFAPbjmA/viewform
Besides gathering feedback and ideas, we also want to know if there is interest in forming E.M. Prayer groups – small groups that are intentional about spiritual support/accountability and praying together consistently. Please see the survey form for a greater description of Prayer Groups, and fill out your contact information if you are interested in joining one.
Know that all feedback and ideas towards improving prayer in the E.M. are much welcomed and appreciated, so please fill out the survey! More importantly, be praying for the Spirit to guide and unite us as we seek to grow deeper in prayer together.
- Local Mission will launch a two-week “Care for community” fundraising activity. The money raised will be used to purchase masks and personal protective materials for clinics, elderly centers, and any places in need. Please use online donation via Zelle from your online bank or mobile bank Apps via general.fund.cbcgl@gmail.com. (General Fund), please specify “Support our community.”
