This weekend, I will be serving as a retreat speaker in NH. And you also have the opportunity to serve!
Tomorrow, May 18, from 2 to 4 pm, you can come to church to help clean up the rooms which CPC regularly uses. Though, one quick update, we don’t need to clean room A202. The Mandarin congregation took care of that last weekend! So we only need to clean A216, A218, A201A and A201B, and if we have time, the Bridge between buildings A and B. Bring some cleaning supplies and a great attitude. And if you want, you can join Badminton when you are done! Let Deacon John Huang know if you can’t make it.
On Sunday, May 19, CPC has been assigned to clean the cafeteria. With your cleaning skills honed from Saturday, we can work together to make the cafeteria clean and ready for another week of use. Let Deacon John Huang know if you can make it.
Following the clean up on May 19, you can join the Youth Ministry 5k for 5k. You can run or walk the 5k with your friends or family. And you can join to support the work of Youth summer short term missions. Your donations will go to support the trip to Taiwan and to Lewiston, ME.
Also, from what I understand, though it will be Memorial Day weekend, and Mandarin, Cantonese, Children and Youth will not meet, CPC will still have Bible Study on Friday Night – May 24. And there will be Empower fellowship as well on May 24!
One quick announcement: On June 2, we will have a Q and A with Acting Senior Pastor Sean Lee during the Sunday School hour – from 9:45 to 11 am. This is for all of CPC and LYF in the Chapel (2nd floor Sanctuary). Looking forward to our time together! This Q and A will prepare us for a Special Congregational Meeting on Sunday 6/2 at 1:30pm in the Main Sanctuary.

At the meeting, we will be voting on whether or not to call Pastor Sean Lee as the Senior Pastor of CBCGL. All church members are invited to attend the meeting and cast your vote. If you are a member who cannot attend the meeting, you may request an absentee ballot from Corinna Lee (corinna.lee@lowell.church) from 5/27 to 6/1 (no later than 1:30pm).
Please continue to pray for the nations of Israel and Ukraine. Pray that the wars would end. 2. The Living Stones Sunday School and Grace Ambassadors /Empower Sunday School are meeting this Sunday. The Grace Ambassadors / Empower Fellowship will be learning how to do better personal study of the Bible through a study in the Psalms. 4. Each Wednesday, such as this week (May 22) at 7:45 pm, you are invited, encouraged, and requested to join our weekly prayer meeting. We will not grow in Christ without growing in our dependence on God through prayer. In May, we’re making time for corporate confession. The link is found below in the section on prayer.
Administration / Events
1. We have a missions update (so check out the missions tab in the bulletin)! You can provide support for COCM (in England), for James Liang (at UConn), or pray for Chris and Emily who are serving in Japan. They are still making progress in language acquisition as they have begun serving in the church and filling new roles for their missions organization, all while raising two growing boys! Pray for them!
2. Sunday Lunch Service is available at CBCGL with $5 lunches that are first-come, first-served. We’ll work at ending our service on time so that you can get lunch!
3. May 18 – from 2 to 4 pm – CPC will be doing our Spring Cleaning (of rooms A201A and B, A216, and A218 – and if time, the Bridge between Bldgs A and B). We hope you can make it to wipe things down (to remove the dust), sweep the floor and mop (to remove the dirt), and to do this once thorough cleaning of our building.
4. May 19 – CPC is tasked with cleaning the cafeteria. Let’s roll up our sleeves and make the cafeteria spic and span. (This will be a great warm up for…)
5. May 19 – @ 2 pm – via the Heart Pond Trail – Youth 5k for 5k – Fundraiser for Short Term Missions. Pay the $20 entry fee (or more – since it is a fundraiser) and go for a great walk with brothers and sisters from church on the Sunday afternoon of May 19. 6. Save the Date – Senior Pastor Q and A – June 2nd – During the Sunday School Hour (9:45 to 11 am) in the Chapel – CPC and LYF will join for a time to talk with/interview Pastor Sean Lee (who is the Council-approved candidate for the role of Senior Pastor). This is a time for the congregation to ask questions before we vote on June 2 as a whole church congregation on calling him to serve as our Senior Pastor (since presently he is Acting Senior Pastor, as appointed by the Council). Please pray for discernment and wisdom as we seek God’s will together.
