Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
This morning, I have three questions for you:
Do you have plans? Specifically, do you have plans for this coming Sunday morning? You do! Join the CPC joint Sunday School at 9:45. We will start promptly at 9:45 because we only have an hour this Sunday. Why only an hour? It’s because this Sunday, June 23, you will get to participate in the Installation of Min. Kim and Pastor Lee at 10:50 in the Main Sanctuary.
Second, do you have time? It is that time of year again when CPC welcomes the rising 7th graders to join our worship service. Specifically, this Sunday, June 23, we will have our annual 6th Grade Graduation ceremony in CPC. I ask if you have time because I think that you should take some time to get to know the new guests in our worship service. Give of your time to make others in the service feel welcome. Take time to learn the names of the youth who come to worship. And make time in your schedule to disciple someone else within the congregation.  I recommend about one hour per week – just talking through life, checking in on Spiritual disciplines, sharing lessons learned as you have followed Christ. Who will you invest in before the ends of this summer?
Third, do you have used electronics or musical instruments just sitting at home? We are blessed to be a blessing. And as you finish up your spring cleaning, finding old electronics or forgotten musical instruments, you can bring them to church to be collected for Pastor Benjamin Owino of Let the Needy Smile. He is returning to the States for a season to revisit churches and renew connections to continue to support his ministry to AIDS orphans and churches in Eastern Uganda. If you need help with wiping your personal info from your device, let us know. Provide your passcode/password so we can access your device and we’ll have Joshua Zhang help you with it.

Fourth, here is an update from the Local Missions Deacon, regarding the Block Party on June 15: “Praise the Lord, we had about 180 visitors from 62 families (excluding our church members) at [Saturday’s] block party, to enjoy the breezy and sunny weather,  freshly cooked tasty BBQ, well prepared dishes/ice creams, thoughtfully arranged kids activities (outdoor games, face painting, balloons) and featured basketball activities. More importantly, there were a lot of greetings, chatting, conversations, and fellowship. The debut of the prayer tent is our first try to infuse more Gospel element in the block party, despite of little attendees. On the heel of the block party, Ablaze worship was so heart touching. I am sure many attendees felt the presence of [the] Holy Spirit strongly within the 2-hour worship filled with 20 hymns and Min. Jin’s inspiring sermon.”

Please continue to pray for the nations of Israel and Ukraine. Pray that the wars would end. Here is a suggested list of prayers if you are at a loss for words in how to pray: https://send.org/story/hh_pray_for_ukraine. And https://worldrelief.org/blog-prayer-for-israel-and-gaza/ Thank you for kneeling on behalf of the people of Ukraine and Russia, Israel and Gaza and taking a stand (or a knee in prayer) against the forces of darkness in this present age.

4. Each Wednesday, such as this week (June 26) at 7:45 pm, you are invited, encouraged, and requested to join our weekly prayer meeting. We will not grow in Christ without growing in our dependence on God through prayer. In June, we’re praying for church outreach and missions programs happening. The link is found below in the section on prayer.

Administration / Events

1. We have a missions update (so check out the missions tab in the bulletin)! You can provide support for James Liang (at UConn), or pray for Vivian Mah (an ABC) who is serving in the UK. She is doing a whole lot – like discipleship with teenagers, helping to establish an internship program for COCM (which starts in September), and preparing for the summer camp happening in July. Pray for her!

2. Sunday Lunch Service is available at CBCGL with $5 lunches that are first-come, first-served. Lunch service will resume again in September.

3. Beginning June 16 to August 25 – CPC will have a combined Sunday School discussing Christian Civility. If you don’t know what that is, come and learn! And if you do know what that is, come and practice it!

4. All other announcements can be found here (in our CrossPoint Community bulletin).

For Prayer:

1. From Bishop J.C. Ryle – “To be prayerless is to be Christless, Godless, and in the high road to destruction…It will always be found that when prayers are few, grace, strength, peace, and hope are small.” Please join our Wednesday night prayer meeting (7:45 – 9:15 pm) even if you can’t participate the whole time.
