Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

How are you doing, handling these hot summer days? Perhaps eating more ice cream than at other times of the year…
One thing you can be doing is praying for our STM Teams. The Taiwan Team is wrapping up their time of service tomorrow and will be returning to the States at different times. You can pray for their safe travel and for God’s continued work in and through this team. On this coming Sunday, the Root Cellar STM team will be commissioned to go and serve in Lewiston, ME. For those who remember, Root Cellar is a bit like the Boston Project Ministries. You can be praying for this team in order to support the work they will be doing with refugees.
A quick reminder, our worship service will be held in the Fellowship Sanctuary (A-101) this coming Sunday – July 14. So we will have Sunday school upstairs (with the topic of Christian Civility) in the Community Hall (A-202) and then walk downstairs for our worship service, where our Senior Pastor, Sean Lee, will preach. Hope to see at both!
Did you know that discipleship is helping others to become more like Jesus? Make time in your schedule to disciple someone else within or outside of our congregation. I recommend about one hour per week – just talking through life, checking in on Spiritual disciplines, sharing lessons learned as you have followed Christ. Who will you invest in before the end of this summer?
Do you have used electronics or musical instruments just sitting at home? We are blessed to be a blessing. If you find old electronics or forgotten musical instruments at home, you can bring them to church to be collected for Pastor Benjamin Owino of Let the Needy Smile. He has returned to the States for a season to revisit churches and renew connections to continue to support his ministry to AIDS orphans and churches in Eastern Uganda. If you need help with wiping your personal info from your device, let us know. Provide your passcode/password so we can access your device and we’ll have Joshua Zhang help you with removing your personal info.

Additionally, FYI, I’ll be on vacation with my family next week. We’ll return on July 19, but I want to let you know that due to the vacation, there will be no weekly update next week.

Please continue to pray for the nations of Israel and Ukraine. Pray that the wars would end. Here is a suggested list of prayers if you are at a loss for words in how to pray: https://send.org/story/hh_pray_for_ukraine. And https://worldrelief.org/blog-prayer-for-israel-and-gaza/ Thank you for kneeling on behalf of the people of Ukraine and Russia, Israel and Gaza and taking a stand (or a knee in prayer) against the forces of darkness in this present age.

4. Each Wednesday, such as this coming week (July 17) at 7:45 pm, you are invited, encouraged, and requested to join our weekly prayer meeting. We will not grow in Christ without growing in our dependence on God through prayer. In July, we’ll be taking time to praise God for his character and attributes. The link is found below in the section on prayer.

Administration / Events

1. We have a missions update (so check out the missions tab in the bulletin)! You can provide support for James Liang (at UConn), or pray for Gordon and Maggie who are serving in France. They are seeing people coming to Christ, and setting up an outreach event with teenagers, and taking time to rest this summer. Pray for them!

2. Sunday Lunch Service is available at CBCGL with $5 lunches that are first-come, first-served. Lunch service will resume again in September.

3. From now to August 25 – CPC will have a combined Sunday School discussing Christian Civility. If you don’t know what that is, come and learn! And if you do know what that is, come and practice it!

4. All other announcements can be found here (in our CrossPoint Community bulletin).

For Prayer:

1. From Bishop J.C. Ryle – “To be prayerless is to be Christless, Godless, and in the high road to destruction…It will always be found that when prayers are few, grace, strength, peace, and hope are small.” Please join our Wednesday night prayer meeting (7:45 – 9:15 pm) even if you can’t participate the whole time.
