Brothers and Sisters in Christ,   
 
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! (These are the final announcements of 2024). There are a lot of details to keep track of for the next two weeks. So here they are in one place! 
 
       Tonight (12/20), we have Bible Study at 7:30 pm. But we don’t have it on 12/27/2024 or 1/3/2025. 
       On Sunday, 12/22, we have a Combined Worship Service beginning at 9:45 am in the Main Sanctuary. (There is no Sunday School or Church lunch on 12/22). 
       On Tuesday, 12/24, we will have our CrossPoint Community Christmas Eve Service at 7:30 pm in the Fellowship Sanctuary. We hope you can join us in person because we do not intend to provide a livestream, unless we can find co-workers for doing so. 
       On Wednesday, 12/25, Christmas Day, we will not have prayer meeting so you can spend time seeking the Lord together with your family. 
       On Sunday, 12/29, we will have a connection / prayer time during the Sunday School hour (9:45 to 11 am) in the Fellowship Hall (Room A-202). We will also have our final worship service of the year in the Main Sanctuary from 11:25 am to 12:30 pm. 
       On Tuesday, 12/31, we will move our Wednesday prayer meeting to Tuesday night, beginning at 7:45 pm. We will pray until around 9 pm, so you can still join both the prayer meeting and parties that you may be attending. 
       And, as a reminder one more time, there is no Living Stones Bible Study on 1/3 (Though it’s likely that the Empower Fellowship will meet, since the Mandarin, Cantonese, Youth and Children are planning to meet). 
 
Please continue to pray for the nations of Israel and Ukraine and South Sudan. Pray that the wars would end. This Week (Dec. 20 – 27, 2024):

1. Tonight, Dec. 20, 2024, the Living Stones Friday Night Bible Study is meeting from 7:30-9:30 to study the topic of “Looking Forward to Peace”. You can read Isaiah 8:20-9:7 to prepare in advance. Join in person in Room A-218 or online via the following link at 7:30 pm:

Also, the Bible Study group John is leading will be meeting this week (Dec. 20)

2. CrossPoint Community Sunday School will not meet for the next two Sundays – neither 12/22 nor 12/29  

But there will be a connection hour, a time for conversation and prayer, in A-202 on 12/29.

3. This Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024, at 9:45 am, our CrossPoint Community Worship Service will combines with the Chinese congregations. Pastor Sean Lee will be preaching. Pray for him! Join us for worship at CBCGL!

4. On Christmas Day, there will be no prayer meeting. But we will have a prayer meeting on Christmas Eve (12/31) Tuesday, 7:45 pm, you are invited, encouraged, and requested to join our weekly prayer meeting. We will not grow in Christ without growing in our dependence on God through prayer. In December, we will be praying using a Christmas Carol for ideas each week. The link is found below in the section on prayer.

Administration / Events

1. We have a missions update (so check out the missions tab in the bulletin)! You can provide support for James Liang (at UConn), and pray for him in the work that he is doing there. Also, please keep the Panama STM team in your prayers. If you’d like to help with providing mission updates – let Pastor Nathan know!

2. CPCM has reserved the Multi-Purpose Room on Saturday’s from 1:30 to 4PM for sports. ***It has been cancelled for December*** See you in the New Year! We can play any game: Ping-pong, badminton, pickleball, volleyball, basketball; we can do it all. The room is reserved only for CPCM members, so it is highly likely you will have lots of space and time to play whatever you want. The goal is to build deeper bonds through shared interest and activity. The contact person is Joshua Zhang.

3. Sunday Lunch Service is available at CBCGL with $5 lunches that are first-come, first-served. Pizza is $2 per slice and Ramen is available (priced variously according to size). No Lunch will be served on 12/22 or 12/29.

4. Women’s Bible Study – “KEEPING IT VERTICAL” meets the first and third Tuesday of each month to learn, share and grow in the Lord. We are studying the Fruit of the Spirit. Come join us and meet new friends and bring more friends along! Contact jeannemic50 (at) icloud.com

Ryle – “To be prayerless is to be Christless, Godless, and in the high road to destruction…It will always be found that when prayers are few, grace, strength, peace, and hope are small.” Please join our Wednesday night prayer meeting (7:45 – 9:15 pm) even if you can’t participate the whole time. (Note: We will not have prayer meeting on December 25, and the Prayer meeting on Jan. 1,2025 has been moved up to December 31, 2024 at 7:45 pm.)
